Gavin diagnosis update

One thing I neglected to mention earlier was that Gavin’s diagnosis has changed. Lizze noticed that on Gavin’s chart (type thing) that his diagnose is now listed as schizo-effective disorder instead of bipolar. This actually makes much more sense then a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. However, it is closer to a diagnosis of schizophrenia. This isn’t a good things by any means, however, at least we have a better idea of what’s going on with him….

Do you read Michael Schofield's blog about his daughter January, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia when she was five or six? Her brother Bodhi is autistic.

@lostandtired  @MeaghanGood&nbsp ;http://www.janisjourney.org/ He just published a book about his family's story. They've been on TV a few times and the Los Angeles Times did a feature story about them a few years ago.

No not really. We have been talking about it for a long time but no one was comfortable diagnosing at such a young age. He just keeps having psychotic episodes. Yes I agree better then schizophrenia..

They changed his diagnosis without discussing it with you?? There are still a significant positive differences between schizo-affective and schizophrenia, it's a much easier condition to live with and manage.
