Keeping kids out of the refrigerator

We finally broke down and bought locks for our refrigerator.  We have fallen about it many times but never really did anything about it.

The reason we finally decided to pull the trigger on this is because Emmett just won’t stay out of the refrigerator.  As he has many food allergies,  we can’t let him get into something that could make him sick.

These locks were easy to install and cost less than $5 at Walmart.
So far they have worked out pretty well.  However,  I’m not sure it will be long before Emmett figures out how to open the locks.  He’s quite intuitive that way.

Either way,  they are working for right now and so if you are thinking about doing the same thing,  I would say go for it.

I will say that I wish they had black versions of these to actually match the refrigerators color….

Oh well,  beggars can’t be chooser or something like that.  😉

we actually have the same locks for our fridge, but as the other person said higher up ( though that doesn't stop our 3 year old getting a chair). They have lasted about 5 months now and I think the fridge raiding is just about over as he loves to click them back up again.

Jr ripped them off ours – it has the french doors. He ripped them off in less then 2 weeks. :/ lets hope EJ takes longer!

As one who's been there, try putting them on the top of the fridge next time. My kids figured them out and/or ripped them apart. Putting up where they couldn't reach helped a lot.
