What would you do with $1,000,000?

I was sitting here while Emmett fell asleep,  stressing out over all the various expenses I can’t meet.  The thought popped into my head,  what would I do with $1,000,000?

For me,  it’s a lot like window shopping. I’m just sitting here thinking about all the things I would do with the $1,000,000 I don’t have.

I came up with following list:

*these are in no particular order

1) I’d move my family to a safe neighborhood
2) I’d get Emmett into the preschool he needs but is too expensive
3) I would help my family
4) I would get Lizze a nice camera so she can pursue photography
5) I would get the kids the best, most awesome playground for the back yard
6) I would try to find Tim, from My Broken Heart: The Bare Handed Man and help him find a place to live
7) I would buy tablets to give give away to families that need them (android,  of course)
8 ) I would get myself a TreadClimber by Boflex to I could get in shape again
9) I would finish setting up my foundation and help as many families as possible
10) Maybe get an Xbox 360 cause I REALLY want to play Halo 4 in November

Those are just off the top of my head.  Obviously I would pay the bills and do whatever medical things needed to be done for my family as well.  However,  that would take up way to much room.

So,  what would you do with $1,000,000?  Let’s have some fun with this.  Be creative and honest.  🙂

Ohhh….. I just thought of another one.

11) Take a vacation.  We have never,  ever been on a vacation

1. buy or build a house to meet the needs of Serenity (nothing too extravagant, probably around 200K though)
2.  pay off our van, buy a small car with great gas mileage to get me where I need/want to go, and perhaps a midsize car for short trips out with the family and only use the van on major trips.
3.  help pay off my mother's house and truck

after the taxes, there wouldn't be much left out of a simple million, but being able to live rent/mortgage free for the rest of our lives would be awesome.

What's that old joke?  "Nope, I'm not going to retire.  I think I'll just keep farming until it's all gone… "

Buy a house, two reliable and midpriced cars.  Put aside a large chunk for retirement in a 401k (something I dont have yet).  Pay off all my student loans.  Maybe go back and get my PHD.  Then take the rest and create a scholorship for autistic folks that are going to college or trade school. Not a big one, but something that can help them out.

I have actually wanted to do the last one for a while.

In no particular order:
1. Donate money to families of children and adults with Autism.
2. Donate money to organizations that help those with Autism.
3. A community sensory room (just like a community gym) for those with special needs.
4. Buy a horse.
5. Have a state of the art sensory playground built for children and adults with and without disabilities.
6. Buy holiday gift for those with and without Autism, children and adults who like, so everyone can have a happy holidays.
7. Buy supplies and donate money to schools in need.
8. Build an in ground pool in my backyard.
9. Have a sensory room in my basement.

I always dreamed of having horses and would love to open a  riding center for children and adults alike. Donate to great charities and just pay it forward of course. Oh and would love to have my own car as we have one that won't be running much longer. And marry my honey of 12 years as we can't afford that either…

Oh Rob why must you make us dream?!  My hubby and I would sell our home and move closer to better schools. We would like to custom build a house on some land so we can have horses. We would like to go as green as possible like gardening, rain storage, solar panels, milk from cows, eggs fresh from the chicken kinda thing. I would round the kids up and take a trip to visit every nook and cranny in the USA. Then we would take a disney cruise. We would give some to our families and a few friends. Then we would set up trusts for our kiddos. If money were no object, I have always dreamed of opening a ranch that caters to families. We would teach them how to live the simple life and be green by ways to reduce their carbon footprint. Animal care and togetherness as a family. We just want to live on a farm and bless families. I would alsolike to hold parties and weddings there as well as have a petting zoo and country store that sells items from locals. We would also donate a large portion of our million dollars to various charities that help people to become self-sufficient/independent. World vision comes to mind but also donate state side. I would love to open a school that is like homeschooling where everything is tailored to the specific child for kids who cannot function in regular school or who need this kind of attention

We have a recurring dream of being able to create a state of the art,Autistic therapy school, being from Ohio,we heard at one time of  Antioch Collage being sold,in sits in Yellow Springs ,surrounded by nature preserves ,bike trails and it is even a dedicated Dark sky site, and at John Bryant there is a telescope ,the town is filled with slightly off the beaten path people ( we used to describe them as where the people that followed the Grateful Dead went to live )LOL  the town has artists and thinkers and believe in natural local food , Can you imagine , a place that supports differences ,feeds  them food that is good for them and lots of fresh air and no traffic ,and few out side lights? and top it off a school that gives each student freedom to pursue their strengths ,and who cares if they can't do english Lit,if they are gifted in science and if they can't speak, hey I pads are there,or typing . To stim or not to stim is up to the student , and we do not require EYE CONTACT lol , If these special brains were given support what would we find out ,what world problems could we solve. How far could they and those of us that are on this journey take us ,I would love to find out , Normal is highly overrated ! I love these people and their families and if we could help them be all they can be ,the world would be a better place .  Gloria
