Chance encounters

When we had to take Emmett to the ER to have the Lego extracted from his nose, we dropped Elliott off at my parents.  He ended up spending the whole day there and came home around bedtime.

After dinner, I had to make a run to Giant Eagle to grab a few items that we were out of.

As I was checking out, I looked over and this is what I saw.

Elliott and my Dad were picking up some groceries as well.  They were going to make dinner and then bring him home after.

It would have been much more convenient to just bring him home from then but Elliott was having fun helping Grandma and Grandpa, I said it was alright for him to go back.

This is one of those times where I have to do what’s best for Elliott and not what’s easiest on the rest of us.  He needs as much normalcy as possible.  My parents house is quite and calm and I think he craves that type of environment.

I’m grateful he had the opportunity to spend the day with them.  🙂

I have  one son on spectrum and one daughter with two forms of Epilepsy.  I really do not think people understand that we can not just do what they do, and our kids do not respond, in the same way.  When you capture a normal moment, you seize it–I enjoy reading your blog.
