My son with #Autism went to school this morning, without having to be carried to the car :)

I successfully got Emmett off to school without having to carry him to the car.  That totally breaks my heart when I have to do that.

I don’t know what, if anything, I’m doing right or maybe it’s just that he forgets he doesn’t want to go.

Something has to give though because this can’t be healthy and I don’t want him to be afraid of or stressed out over something, if there’s something I can do to help him.

This is so exhausting and it tends to make me dread getting up in the morning because at never know how it’s going to go.

Elliott was really hyper but did great, all things considered.

I’m so grateful he went to school in a good mood and I got my goodbye hug and kiss this morning.  ☺

What does Dr. Pattie say about Emmett’s issues with school?  And if he won’t verbally express what’s going on, try having him write it down or draw a picture.  There is also the chance that he’s playing you.  Kids are very good manipulators and know which buttons to push to get what they want.  He may just be acting out for the attention.
