Peek into our life and see how this #Autism family’s crazy ass day went (tons of pictures)

It’s been a really long day and I’m absolutely exhausted from it.  In anticipation of being this exhausted, I made sure to take lots of pictures throughout the day to help give you some insight into all that we experienced.

Here’s the rundown from today…

Gavin had therapy this morning and once again kicked ass.  We got home from that and I got some work done while Gavin slept off his morning meds.

After lunch, Gavin and I went out to pick up Emmett from school and head to both his and Gavin’s afternoon therapies.  Unfortunately, about 30 seconds before we turned into the school parking lot, I got a call from said school telling me that Emmett was running a fever and needs to be picked up. It really happened and the timing was crazy.

That threw a wrench into the rest of the day.

I had to get Gavin to speech and talk to Emmett’s therapist about what to do.  Based on the policies in place, Emmett couldn’t be seen today but we did establish that his placement isn’t in any danger because they know this is outside of his control.  At least there’s that….

Emmett and I sat in the car and waited for Gavin to finish speech therapy because I didn’t want him to miss.

We did end up going to Dr. Pattie’s tonight because no one was actually sick and afterward family night at the school.  I talked to the school prior to us going and they were okay with it.  Emmett’s fever was gone by then anyway.

This was a really stressful day for everyone because much of our Tuesday routine was tossed out the window and everyone had to adjust.  That’s not easy for kids on the Autism Spectrum or their parents.

I was wanting to try and end the night on a positive note.  When we were done at the school, I decided to surprise the boys with Dairy Queen on the way home.  As I’m writing this, I can say that all three of the boys are peacefully sleeping in their respective beds.

Today required a great deal of flexibility, patience and did I say patience? I looks as though I’m not the only one that is exhausted. Thank God for small favors…

Anyway, check out the pictures below and take a peak into our day… Oh.. Be sure to enjoy Emmett’s duck face pose.. He made us all do it…  ☺
