Why am I happy the boys get to visit their Mom today?

The boys will be going to visit their Mom tonight.  They spend about 24 hours there, before returning home.  For the most part, these visits have been going pretty well.  Largely, the boys look forward to going or at the very least, no longer complain about having to go.

I feel like we may have reached a balance and the boys are in a better position to cope with all the changes in their young lives.

Personally, I’m quite relieved that we have reached this milestone because I only want what’s best for the boys and I’m hoping that includes healthy time with their Mom.

I’d be lying if I said that the brief break I get during these visits isn’t appealing to me but I much more focused on the kids making progress and rebuilding their relationship with their Mom.

This has been a pretty long journey and it hasn’t been easy but the boys and I have worked hard to get where we are.  I’m very proud of each one of them and frankly, I’m proud of myself as well.

We still have a long way to go but the progress we’ve made is nothing to scoff at… ☺

I am glad to hear the kids are getting in a ‘good place’ with the change. It really is tough on any child to go through.

Thanks. My parents are still married and so I have no experience with what the boys are going through….
