The deadline has passed but it’s not too late to help

In the spirit of brutal honesty, I need to let you know that the server fee’s did not get paid by the deadline. The sites just didn’t generate enough to cover the fee’s this month.

I will likely remain online for the next couple of days but I’m locked out of the server until the fees are paid.

I’ll do my best to figure something out but I can’t make any promises.

If you are among the thousands and thousands who both appreciate and rely on The Autism Dad Blog or The My Autism Help Forums, it’s so important to support us throughout the month.

The easiest way to help is by sharing my posts on social media and by visiting my sponsors, via their ads that are sprinkled throughout the site. This will cost you nothing more than a minute of your time.  You can do this every time you visit and it will make a huge impact.

The other way to help is by directly donating to the sites PayPal account, where the server fee’s are drafted from.  You can do that by simply clicking here.

I get tens of thousands of visitors each month, from all around the world. If even a small percentage of these visitors took a second and helped in one of the ways described above, this site would be self-sustaining and even be able to grow.

Please keep that in mind.

I’m so grateful for everyone who has supported my efforts and I ask that you please continue to help out the cause. If there’s any doubt about the impact I’m having on the Autism community, please take a second and visit my testimonials page… These are just a small fraction of the positive comments I receive from my readers.

Thank you all for everything and know that I will do my very best to make this work but it’s not too late to help.  In the past, even though the account has expired, I’ve had a few days beyond that expiration to come up with the fee’s.

I’m not giving up hope…  ☺

I know you will think I’m being a jerk, but why do you keep this? It’s a stressor for you every month to come up with the fees. And Facebook is free.

Again, not being a jerk genuinely curious why you keep something like this when you really can’t afford it?

Rob Gorski

Nope. This is a reasonable question. The answer is simple. To what I do cannot be done on Facebook. Most of the time, the site pays for itself but sometimes it doesn’t.

I only stress out because I know how many people rely on what I do every single day.

Even if I could do this on Facebook, doing so would mean I don’t own any of my content and I won’t do that.

That’s a good question.

For the love of God would you please stop putting an apostrophe in the word fees? You are killing my autism. And while you’re at it you can stop using capital letters for words like mother and grandparents. THEY ARE NOT PROPER NOUNS.
Whew. That felt good. It’s Miller time! : )

Rob Gorski

LoL….

While you’re technically correct, I choose to capitalize certain words because the are important to me. Sorry if it bothers but you’re also right about fee’s… That’s an issue with autocorrect. I made the mistake in that past and now the keyboard automatically adds the apostrophe.

You’ll be relieved to know that I’ve removed that spelling from the dictionary and it shouldn’t happen again….

I know I have mentioned this before, but I have good uptime with bluevm, and I get a 4cpu, 2 gigabyte ram, 1 gigabyte swap, 100 gigabyte disk kvm VPS VM with 3 terabytes of transfer per month for $40 per year because I got it on special, but anyone can get it for $120 per year or like $15 per month. This should be way more server than you would need.

Rob Gorski

Thanks Mike but I’m pushing the limits of my VPS server with higher specs already. I won’t say that I’m thrilled with Blue host but at this point I’ve been here forever and the thought of migrating roughly 60gb of data, doesn’t sound like something I want to even think about right now.

I may have some better options open up in the future and a move would be more practical.

This isn’t always an issue but when the last couple of months, the site hasn’t been paying for itself …

Rsync moves data super fast, and I’ve seen sustained 20mbps on my network connections to fast hosts. That would be a four hour move at four megabytes per second. I know the server fees are normally paid by ads, but if you could cut a bill by ninety percent, why not do it? Once you’re back at normal revenue levels, it means more money for other bills.
