At least one of them made it to school

I had the hardest time falling asleep last night and didn’t do so until almost 4 am. There wasn’t anything wrong other than not being able to shut my brain off.

There were so many thoughts racing through my head and I couldn’t process them all. I did squeak out a few hours in the end and I’m happy-ish with that for now.

All things considered, I’m doing pretty awesome this morning. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for everyone else.

Lizze is on day two of being sick but at least she’s in good company now. Very early on this morning, she was joined by Mr. Emmett, who isn’t feeling well either.

He’s experiencing a double whammy. The main issue this morning was nausea, likely related to nasal drip. Then of course, there’s the mouth sores as well. Fever flare or not, he’s miserable.

Elliott is doing fine and got to school without any issue.

The only one left is Gavin and he’s going to be sleeping off his morning meds in a little bit. Outside of that, it’s status quo for him.

Hopefully, the day will only improve from here..  ☺

Hey Rob- I wasn’t sure which post to reply to so I’m just going to put it here. You mentioned having to go to the tax office the other day and set up a payment plan… but for what? This is the type of thing that could be really helpful to people; not just special needs parents, but anyone who has ever struggled with money. I have friends with autistic kids and they’re fine financially, and then I also have friends with typical kids who live paycheck to paycheck. Telling people how you deal with tax issues or how you saved your house or got a new car might be super helpful to people. Not everyone knows the ins and outs of how to work within the system and find the help that they might need. I feel like you could do a huge service to other people out there by not just saying that you had to run to the tax office, but why and how it helps or impacts your family.

The other thing is, how do you monetize the blog? How do you get paid for reviews? How would the average person get signed up with Amazon to do product review? You mention your paychecks, but don’t tell us what you are doing to earn that money. Again, these are the sorts of things that could really help someone who needs extra cash and can’t get a conventional part-time job.

Just my 2¢. Well, more like 8 or 10¢, but you get my point. 😎

Guardian Locate launched? I remember when you were looking for people to test it but must have missed the large scale launch. I asked about the taxes not so much to see what was or wasn’t paid, but there are people out there who don’t realize that you can set up a payment plan with tax authorities, that’s why I thought it might be helpful for you to put a little more information into those types of posts/comments. I really do feel like the average person just doesn’t know about that sort of thing. It’s kind of like when you’ve had issues with the utilities- explaining how you solved it or how you were able to get some help would be huge to some people.

Good. Every little bit helps. 🙂

Okay. Those are fair questions but sometimes, I’m not going into detail because there’s no need. However, I see your point.

I went to the tax office because I owe the City back taxes for the last couple of years. It’s not anything good to do with not paying my taxes, it’s simply a payment plan because I can’t pay the required lump sum.

As for monetizing the blog, I’m very careful what I say because I don’t want to break the rules and get banned. The blog is monetized through Google Adsense and I get paid everytime someone c-l-i-c-k-s on an ad, even if they don’t buy anything. I have to break up the word cause when they index a site, they look for certain words that are considered to be encouraging people to do what is needed to earn money for the site.

As for paid reviews, I don’t do paid reviews and Amazon has killed off the product review programs that were out there.

As far as paychecks are concerned, some of that is personal information but I get a small check from Guardian Locate and I do get paid from Vivint. I don’t get paid to push their agenda but I write for them. Sometimes it’s on my site and other time it will be on their blog. I don’t get paid to push their program because I do that on my own. This helps to compensate me for the time I put into this project because I have a family to provide for and my time is valuable. I don’t do paid endorsements and I frankly don’t agree with them because they can often be very misleading.

The Vivint Gives Back Project is an absolutely amazing program that’s helping countless special needs families find safety and peace of mind. It’s the charity side of a very large, very successful company. There’s no strings attached and I have never been paid for people signing up for the program. I even insisted on paying for the service just like anyone else would do.

That’s more in depth but you did put in a good 10¢ and deserve a 10¢ worth of answers.. ☺

No it hasn’t officially launched but I was given a very modest monthly paycheck to help me make it through until it does.
