(Poll) Does your child with Autism struggle on the Holidays?

The holiday’s in our Autism family have historically been very challenging for a multitude of reasons. The kids are easily overwhelmed by all the excitement, large crowds, traveling and just about every other part of the holidays.

We will see frequent meltdowns due to overstimulation and this can last for days following the holidays as well. Things like problems sleeping or staying asleep will happen quite frequently during this period of time as well.

It’s exhausting for my wife and me. It’s exhausting for the kids as well.

This isn’t about discussing how to address these problems but rather simply acknowledging the problem exists in the first place and how many families are dealing with it. Please answer the poll below and share this when you’re done. The more people who answer, the better picture we get about what Autism families are dealing with during the holidays.

Take a second and answer the poll

As an Autism parent, do you think you've become so used to the high levels of stress in your daily life that you've normalized it or no longer realize it's there?
