Okay, so I’m slowly making some progress with my kids as far as Christmas shopping for them is concerned. By progress I mean the ideas are starting to trickle in. That being said, not all the ideas are realistic.
One of the things that my middle minion is very interested in is archery. He’s been wanting a real bow and arrow or crossbow. I’m not a fan of weapons in general, especially having them in the house but I’m not opposed to something like this under the right circumstances.
Maybe one of the things I can look at are archery lessons. He’s fascinated by it and maybe that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
I’m not saying that this is something I’m going to jump on but I’ve at least been able to look online at Tenpoint Crossbow Technologies for some more information. I like to educated myself on things I’m unfamiliar with before I make a decision.
None of my kids have any interest in hunting and neither do I. That said, learning the skill is something that is of interest and I need to be open to the idea.
The other two minions are still working on ideas but I do have some practical ones though. Actually, that’s not entirely true, my youngest loves coffee and while he doesn’t get it very often, he’s obsessed with it. I asked the kids to send me links to things that they wanted because I want them to practice emailing and texting. When I checked my inbox late last week, I found https://anthonysespresso.com/coffee in there. That’s simply not going to happen but I got quite a chuckle out of it though. 🙂
One of the more practical things I’m looking at are sensory friendly clothes. All of the kids are fans of shirts similar to cycling jerseys, I think they’re called dry fit. They find them very comfortable and a few of those wouldn’t be a bad thing.
The other thing that I need to do is buy more compression socks. Socks are so tough to find for sensory sensitive kids and I’ve had pretty good luck with compression socks because they stay in place, tend to be comfortable in regards to the seams and they feel tight. Whatever works. 🙂

Now, one of Jacob and Henry’s favorite toys were LEGOs. In fact, I still get them fancier, more expensive ones as adults. Things are a bit different as kids play more video games at a younger age.
