I really miss my morning walks

I cannot wait to get back to walking every day. Since Emmett has been struggling with school, getting out to the park has proven challening. I miss the sense of peace I find while out in nature and it’s a big part of how I manage my stress and depression.

I’m really hoping that this trip hits the reset button for us and we come home in a better place.

I don’t expect it to be perfect but the change of environment should be good for all of us. Giving back is always a positive thing and I want the kids to gain a little perspective. No matter how bad we may feel or how difficult our lives can get, there are always people out there struggling with more.

Anyway, if I’m lucky, I may get a chance to hit the park today. The weather is decent and what I consider good walking weather.

On the back half of the walking path, there is a section that stretches maybe 50 feet or so, that smells like sewage. I don’t know where it’s coming from but there is a manhole cover off to the side. It’s been like this for years and during the summer, it’s really bad or at least it can get really bad. They need to call SciCorp in to help with the stink because it really does takeaway from the Zen of the experience.

I will say that they did finally clean up the Christmas decorations. Everywhere you looked, it would appear as though there was something from Northern Mat laying in the grass. In reality, they were actually small piles of the steel framework used to for the massive light displays. They go up way before Thanksgiving and seem to linger until Valentines day.

At this point in time, I just really need to get back to my morning walks. I don’t always realize how important they are to my life until I have to go without them.

Hey, what’s with all the product placement? It’s weird to read something that I think is about one thing and then come to the conclusion that it’s all just in the service of mentioning some company’s product. There must be line somewhere between get-paid-enough-to-make-it-worthwhile and gets-in-the-way-of-open-expression. I’m curious about how you think about it.
