We are getting unburied today

As we’re on lockdown, the bulk of our suoies are being drop shipped and because of that, we’ve become buried in boxes. I guess I hadn’t really been paying much attention to that but for whatever reason, I did today.

I decided to break everything down and store them because we may need to use them at some point.

I was pleasantly surprised when all the kids, including Gavin, began to help me without having to be asked. It’s not that my kids can’t be helpful, especially Gavin. It’s just that it sometimes requires the pulling of teeth. To be fair, Gavin’s always super helpful.

Anyway, the point is, everyone helped and I’m profoundly grateful for that. I’m really overwhelmed and little things like this mean a great deal. ☺

The little things that others take for granted are milestones for parents of autistic kids and young adults.

Might want to take some precautions, as I know that there are postal workers who’ve worked with the coronavirus, and also at Amazon. So we literally spray our boxes on the outside with a bleach solution. We also take a bit of a spray to what is inside. Finally, we also lightly spray our mail.

It may be too many precautions. But I worked for the USPS, and a former coworker published an article from one of the postal unions about sick workers. And I’ve also read, as recently as last week, where Amazon workers walked off the job after someone got sick with the virus, but management wanted them to reopen.

It’s unknown how long the virus can live but on some surfaces, for days. Probably not living on our mail or boxes but you never know.
