I’m attending the @SpringbrookBHS National Converge #Autism Summit on April 28th and 29th

I've been talking about a few of the projects I'm working on or involved with but I've been holding off talking about this one in particular, until the time was right. Well, the time has arrived and I'm really excited to share this information with all of you. I've been invited to the National Converge Autism Summit, put on by Springbrook Autism Behavioral Health, in Greenville, South Carolina. The summit will be held on April 28th & 29th. There's an amazing lineup of keynote speakers. Dr. Temple Grandin, a pioneer in the field of autism will be there, as well as Ron Suskind, Pulitzer Prize-winning author, journalist, and filmmaker. I will be conducting on site interviews for the podcast with Dr. Temple Grandin, Ron Suskind, as well as few other…

I’ve been thinking and it’s time for change

I have been thinking a lot recently, and I have made a decision. I want to take a few minutes and talk about it. This blog is pushing 12 years of age, and it's seen a great deal of change over the years. It started as Lost and Tired and evolved into what you see today. The evolution was necessary and, in many ways, a continuing process. One of the things that I have struggled with, especially as the kids got older, is privacy. When they were little, I was comfortable sharing more personal things because they we so young. As they get older, trying to balance sharing meaningful information and privacy, has been more challenging. If I'm candid, that's a large part of why I don't write as often…

A Very Important Announcement

It's come to my attention that someone is stealing pictures of both myself and my kids, and using them to create fake social media accounts. They're using these account to impersonate me and harass people. I'm getting tons of messages from people letting me letting me know they have been approached by this person. First of all, I'm so sorry. I have no control over this but I'm working on it. Secondly, thank you all for looking out and letting me know. Please continue to report and block these accounts if you're approached. Just a little background. This isn't the first time this has happened. This person has been harassing me for almost two years now and has taken to attacking me this way. I don't care if someone comes…

A Important Announcement

Doing what I do is very rewarding. Being able to help people and provide for my family is a true blessing. It's taken a lot of time, patience, energy, and sacrifice to build this platform. I'm very lucky and I know it. At the same time, there's a dark side to this that I don't often talk about. I tend to quietly deal with it because I've always just figured it was my fault for putting myself out there. The truth is, I have at least two online stalkers and I don't know what else to call them. The leave disgusting comments on the blog, you've probably seen them, messages on social media, and now they're creating social accounts in order to impersonate me. They're stealing pictures of my kids…

I Need to Find an Attorney ASAP

It's been a really long night. I want to explain and at the same time, make an important announcement as well. I began my blogging journey over ten years ago with Lost and Tired. Eventually rebranded to The Autism Dad during my first separation in 2014 because I was starting a new journey. Eventually, I merged the two sites together and aside from a small gap of roughly six months, everything I've ever written is here. The missing six months happened during the merger and had to do with data corruption, if I recall correctly. During that period of time I wasn't really writing much anyway and while I wish I had everything intact, I've accepted this loss of data. When the sites were merged, I shutdown Lost and Tired.…

Here’s what’s up with my @GoFundMe and how you can help

I shared this information on the GoFundMe page itself but I wanted to share it here as well. Additionally, I've provided a breakdown of everything as well. Please do not feel obligated to contribute, but if you can, and want to, please follow the link to and do so. Visit the GoFundMe. Recently, my kids and I were presented with an amazing to increase inclusion and give back. We were invited to Orlando, Florida by DoubleTree by Hilton at SeaWorld. They are among the first in the country to become Autism certified and they asked if I would bring my family to visit and evaluate first-hand, their Autism specific accommodations. This is a big deal for everyone in the Autism community because businesses are starting to step up and become…

Let’s get a couple of f*cking things straight right now

I need to make a couple things very clear. When I said that I would not tolerate any negative comments pertaining to my family's current situation, I meant it. If you leave a negative comment, I will block you from leaving any further comments. I haven't asked for anyone's opinion, judgments, rude comments or marriage advice. I've banned two people today as a result of comments like this. One was so bad that it would devastate my kids if they ever read it. It's dick move and it's very upsetting. More importantly, I wanted to say a truly heartfelt thank you to the 99.999% of you who are respecting my wishes. Thank you so much for your kind words, love and support. Thank you for asking how the kids are…
