A brief review of Sago Mini: First Words

I love technology, especially when it can be used by everyday people to improve their everyday lives. A few years back I spent some time with an app called Otmiso, which is a game-based learning app for kiddos with special needs. You can see it reviewed here. I found it to be a really cool app for kids and I want to take a minute to point out a new app that I've been looking at recently. SAGO Mini has partnered with the above mentioned Otsimo, to create a new app called SAGO Mini First Words. First Words is designed with the help of speech therapists, child psychologists, and other early childhood development experts. I appreciate this as I'm a big fan of things backed in science and medicine. Real…

Have you seen Nano Jewelry before? Check this out!! (Review)

I work with tons of companies and get pitched just as many items for review. I don't take on even a quarter of what I'm offered because I'm just not interested. That being said, sometimes something comes along that captures my attention because it's truly unique, and not something I see everyday. This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long while and it's by a company called NanoStyle. They create incredibly unique and beautiful pieces of jewelry. I ordered the I Love You Necklace Onyx Pendant Inscribed in 24k Gold. It says "I Love You" in 120 different languages. On the surface it almost looks like a fingerprint but when you use the included magnifying glass, you can clearly read everything. It's so cool. This particular…

Review: The Ambush #Mosquito Trap

I was just talking about working in the yard and looking forward to being able to relax and unwind after a long day. Maybe enjoy a nice bonfire or even a cookout on the front porch. We've been putting a lot of effort into getting the outside of the house repainted, as well as some landscaping projects done. I still have yet to decide whether I'm going to paint the porch floor or put new indoor outdoor carpet down. Who knows, I have a lot on my plate and I'm okay with taking my time right now. It's a process but we're well underway. I don't know where you live but I'm in Ohio and the mosquitos have been absolutely horrible this year. Just taking the dog outside or cutting…

The Nooie Cam 360 (REVIEW)

I'm gonna be brief with this because there isn't a tremendous amount that needs to be said. I've been testing out the $50 Nooie 360 Camera for a few weeks now and it's unbelievably awesome. The Nooie Cam 360 is a wireless indoor camera that records and streams in 1080p. The camera can record to the cloud or micro SD card that inserts right underneath the camera ball itself. This camera can be triggered by motion and/or sound and works crazy well in the dark due to its night vision feature. There's also 2 way audio so you can easily use it as a monitor for your kids. The Nooie Cam 360 rotates and pans up and down. The camera will track, record can follow motion. While some people want…

AirMax8L Air Purifier by Okaysou (REVIEW)

Okaysou sent me one of their AirMax8L Air Purifier to test out and judge for myself how they work. It includes two filters, washable pre-filter, removes 99.97% of air pollutants like dust, smoke, pollen, pet dander, hair, and even odors from rooms up to 800 square feet. I was excited to give this a try because we live in a house that's over a century old. There's no end to the dust in a house this old. I've been looking at air purifier for mold for awhile, especially since we've been in lockdown. I set this up in our dining room and let it run for the last month. I largely forgot about it because it was tucked away in the corner. After using this for a solid month, I…

The SideTrak Slide is the second display I didn’t know I needed (REVIEW)

I've been a work from home Dad for the better part of a decade. Lately, most of my work is centered around the blog and the podcast. As I've mentioned many times before, I write almost exclusively from my mobile device and only use my laptop for recording and producing my podcast. It's this angle that I'm going to approach this review. Not too long ago, SideTrak sent me their Slide Portable Monitor to try out and share my thoughts on. Essentially what this is - is a 12.5 inch, full HD secondary display, with a matte finish - for a laptop. It attaches magnetically and is easily removable when desired. My current laptop happens to be 13 inches so this was sized perfectly, although it would work with larger…

These stuffies are helping kids accept themselves just the way they are

I wanted to share the newest addition to my pare ts resource page. I'll get them added this week but I wanted to introduce you to MiMo Toys. MiMo Toys is helping kids feel loved and accepted for exactly who they are. MiMo offers 9 adorable plushies, each with a unique personality. Each character comes as a set including an oversized toy and a smaller sized version that makes for a great travel companion. The idea behind these characters is that they each have a strength, but also a challenge, just like me, just like you and just like all of our kids! What I really like about this is that each of these unique plushies are helping kids feel loved and accepted for exactly who they are and that’s…

Buying this amazing puzzle helps support #autistic artists

If you've been following our story over the last year or so, You might remember how Emmett and I love putting jigsaw puzzles together. We've put tons of puzzles together over the last 12 months and really enjoyed doing so. I have to say that this latest puzzle we're undertaking is by far the coolest puzzle we've taken on. While we haven't completed it yet, we're working on it a little each day. The puzzle in question is by my friends at Zenaviv. If you don't remember, Zenaviv is a social enterprise, started by my friend Harish Bikmal. Harish is the father of a 19-year-old boy diagnosed with classic autism. Zenaviv is run by parent volunteers. They represent and support autistic artists. Each artist earns at least 66% of the…
