I just interviewed with Gavin’s speech therapist at @akronchildrens

I just finished my interview with Gavin’s speech therapist and I really like her.  Unfortunately, she won’t be his ongoing therapist cause we will be receiving therapy in Canton..  😕

She’s actually an Autism specialist and would be a great fit.

Gavin is now back there getting his evaluation done and I’m just chilling out in the waiting room, trying to keep myself occupied… ☺

Just a word of advice, I don’t know how it works where you live but I am from Wisconsin. We were on a two year waiting list before we could even start therapy. After the long wait, we interviewed with a autism therapist that was trained and specialized in autism therapy. She never gave therapy to either of our children they sent 18 year old kids that were trained on the job with no previous autism experience or schooling. It was a ridiculous joke we know more about autism than they did. Half the stuff they did agitated my child and my child would not respond to them at all or work with them. We pulled her out of the therapy and are sticking with the therapist that our school provides. My child love them respond to them and is learning a ton from them she’s almost talking. Just something you should keep your eye out for when working with them hopefully you have a better experience where you live then we did. Best of luck to you.
