Lizze and I really stressed over the whole trick or treat thing. We really felt like we were in a no win situation.
In hindsight, I’m glad we decided to allow Gavin to go trick or treating. Yes, he drove me crazy all…day…. long but he had a good time. So far he seems to be doing well. He went to bed without any problems at all.
When you are a special needs parent, you have to sometimes aggonize over the decisions that come more easily to others. We have to think through all the possible consequences of making a particular decision. The really tough part is that there is rarely ever, a clear- cut, right or wrong answer.
In the end all you can do is at the cards you are felt and make the best decision you can based on the information and experience you have gained along the way.
We survived Halloween 2011 relatively unscathed… I hope you managed as well…
