Who are you and what did you do with my kids?

Things have been rough lately.  I don’t try to hide that or sugar coat other in any way.  However, that doesn’t mean we don’t have moments where things seem perfect.

Perfect is a relatively strong word. Perhaps I should say better, instead.

Since Gavin has been gone, Elliott and Emmett have come out of their creative shells.  They are constantly drawing things and cutting them out with their safety scissors.

Sometimes they’re creating things for me but most often, it’s for Lizze.

They are drawing flowers and cutting them out.  When they’re done, they write a special note to Lizze tell her they’re sorry she hurts so bad and hope she feels better soon.

That aside, it’s gotten to the point where it looks like creativity has puked all over our dining room.

I asked the boys on Wednesday afternoon to please go through their papers and decide what that want to save and what we can get rid of.

I explained that we have to take a break from the creative process and begin the cleanup process.

To my complete surprise, they did just that. I didn’t have to repeat myself or bribe them to get this done.  Yes, on occasion I’ve been know to use bribery, I mean really, who hasn’t ever bribed their kids to get something done?

I never claimed to be father of the year.  😉
Anyway, I’m really proud of my little men.  They did a great job and on top of that, they worked together as a team.

At this point, I couldn’t dream of asking for more.
