Things I’m doing to be ready for @VivintHome tomorrow

We’ve made some good progress on the house. We still have a ways to go but we should be ready in time for Vivint to arrive for our appointment tomorrow. There are a few things that we need to make sure are done, prior to the techs arrival.

The biggest is that they have clear access to everything they need to work on. This means access to all monitored windows and doors. We need to make sure that the tech can get into the basement, as well as everywhere we have cameras, smoke alarms, CO2, flood and freeze detectors.

One of the bigger things we were going to do was add the additional outdoor camera. Unfortunately, while Gavin and I were prepping the location, we stumbled across a hornet nest.

Because of where the nest is likely located, we won’t be isolate and destroy it until the weather changes and we have a good freeze.

These are the huge black and white hornets that don’t leave a stinger behind. They sting over and over again. How do I know this? I was stung five or six times yesterday. I got stung on my ankle, both knees, wrist, thigh and my hip. It hurt pretty bad.

Thankfully, Gavin was far enough away that they only targeted me. I’m grateful for that.

Anyway, the point is that we will have to out off the new camera for right and wait until we can locate and clear out the nest. Lizze and I are okay with that because everything is already monitored. This was just an extra step.

We still have a few things to work on before we’re are totally ready for the tech to arrive.

I thought I would share what we are doing to prepare for the service call. I’ve mentioned about preparing for it in general, but not with any detail. Now you know. ☺
