You all know about our recent trip to Florida. Gavin had a wish granted and we ended up five States away from home for about ten days. The trip was amazing and you can see all the pictures here.

One of the biggest concerns the boys had about leaving was our fur covered family members.

Maggie was being boarded and our cat pretty much takes care of himself. The kids were very worried about our foursome of ferrets. The ferrets are very special and the boys have never really been away from them for more than a day.

While my Mom was dropping by to take care of them, I decided to use one of our Ping Cameras to monitor the ferrets 24/7. The Ping Camera is part of our Vivint Smart Home system. I was able to set one of the cameras up and have it live stream the ferrets so the boys could check up on the whenever they wanted to.

It worked out amazingly well and the boys could watch the ferrets from the comfort of their own tablets.

This made our trip so much easier because the kids felt much better about leaving when they could both listen and talk to the ferrets from our condo.
