Each day we have left with her is a gift

It’s a bit challenging because her memory is not so good and it’s confusing, as well as a little scary for the boys at times. We’ve talked to them about it, and they’re handling it very well. They answer her questions like it’s the first time she’s asked, even if she’s asked it a few times already.

I don’t think they fully comprehend what’s going on, but they are very patient and understanding. The kids adore their great grandmother and love being around her. ☺

We’ve lost two grandparents in the last six months or so, and that’s been hard on all of us but especially the kids.

On the way home, we stopped by the grocery store and grabbed a few items for dinner.

I’m currently reviewing close to a dozen new products right now, and one of them is a really nice electric skillet. Emmett is showing a great interest in cooking lately, and I’m helping him safely explore that a bit.

Emmett cooked French toast for everyone, entirely on his own. I very closely supervised him, but he did a great job. I love cooking, but our kitchen sucks. There’s no useable counter space and not enough available outlets. I’m very interested in kitchen appliances that make our kitchen more usable, and I’m lucky to have the opportunity to review things like that.

Anyway, that review will be out in the coming weeks. There a few ahead of it right now.

Everyone went to bed without a problem and even fell asleep on their own. Lizze and I spent some time watching the Oxygen channel before we headed off to bed ourselves. We’re trying to get to bed a bit earlier. As the boys get older, sleep is a little easier to come by, and we plan to take full advantage.
