Today I will be driving Lizze back to the Cleveland Clinic as part of her ongoing treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder.  Depending on traffic, we’ll have about a three hour round trip for a one hour appointment. It’s well worth the effort though..

I’m not sure what will happen at the appointment but Lizze and I are both expecting changes in medication to be on the list of topics.

Her new doctor is super cool and has a lot of experience with Borderline Personality Disorder.  Plus, this is the Cleveland Clinic and Lizze feels very comfortable there.  Being comfortable with your doctor and/or hospital is really important.

Lizze will be doing the appointment on her own but I will be called in during the last 10 – 15 minutes, so the doctor can basically review any relevant information with me.  This is important because right now, Lizze doesn’t always remember things and these are very emotional appointments for her as well.

By me reviewing things with the doctor, Lizze gets her privacy and I know what’s going on with medication and things like that.

It’s sorta like my way of helping her and this is what she wants.

Generally speaking, I feel pretty helpless when it comes to helping her and so I’m more than happy to help whenever I can.

Please keep Lizze in your thoughts and prayers.  🙂
