More fevers tonight as well as a general announcement

Everyone went to bed without a problem and everyone’s in their own bed as well.  That’s like bonus points.. ☺

Unfortunately, that’s where the good news pretty much ends and the not so good news begins.  Both Emmett and Gavin have fevers once again.  Emmett’s is negligible but if there was school tomorrow, he’d be home again, based on the schools fever policy.

Gavin on the other hand, went back up to 102.4°F.  That was taken after his infusion was finished and that could be the cause of the fever or at least a contributing factor.  Even though the IVIG (GAMMAGARD) is a life saving infusion of donor antibodies, his body can still see them as a foreign, hence the possibility of fever.

On the plus side, he went to bed feeling okay and I certainly won’t complain about that.

To be completely honest, since he’s been doing these at home, I’m not sure if I ever checked his temperature, immediately following an infusion.  It’s something I’m going to start doing though.

Anyway, it’s been a really quiet night and for that, I’m exceptionally grateful… ☺

On a quick side note..

You may have noticed that the comment form at the end of my posts looks different.  That’s because I’ve made a change, that should be of benefit to everyone.

Not only is this new system extremely lightweight but it’s email driven.  This means you can reply to comments directly via email.  You can still do it the old fashioned way but via email is so cool and convenient.

Comments are now more accessible to everyone and when you reply to a post, you can be notified of new comments via email.  You can simply reply to the email and your comment will post live on the site, as well as notify anyone else following that conversation via email also.  This allows for very user friendly experience.

I’m pretty stoked to see how this works.

Please be sure that after you first subscribe, you check your junk mail folder. The emails should be titled The Autism Dad. Add that email to your safe list and you’re good to go.

Let me know your thoughts…  ☺
