Day 2: We’ve made it to Florida for Gavin’s Wishes Can Happen trip

It’s about 11:30 PM and we are settling into our room in Daytona Beach. We were and frankly still are floored by our room. Our hotel is literally on the beach. I can stand on our balcony and throw a rock into the ocean. As I’m sitting here, I can hear the waves crashing into the shore.

I suppose I should mention that we are dealing with unpleasant weather. It’s been storming for the second half of the day and it’s way worse than anything we see in Canton, Ohio. The wind is really strong but it’s only a tropical storm. I can’t even fathom what it’s like during a hurricane.

The boys are freaked out by the weather but have settled in for the night and Lizze is reading Harry Potter to them. ☺

We’ve decided that we could live in our hotel room because it’s that amazing. 😁

It’s been a long day.

We left Charlotte about noon-ish and arrived here in Daytona about 9 PM. There were a few stops along the way but we made pretty good time.

I’m really, really tired from all the driving and I just want to crash.

Our goal is to make it to the beach in the morning but the weather is pretty shitty right now and it’s suppose to continue for the next few days. All. We have to do is walk out to the pool, open the gate and go down the steps to the beach. As long as the weather isn’t too bad, we’ll definitely try to pull that off.

Worst case scenario, we can look out our seventh floor balcony and watch the ocean from the safety of our room.

After we’ve had our fill of the beach, we will be heading to our final destination. Give Kids the World is about a two hour drive from here and we’ll likely head out before noon.

I want to take a second before heading off to bed and say thank you to a few people/organizations.

First and foremost, I want to thank Wishes Can Happen for this unbelievable opportunity. Madelyn has been absolutely amazing and we are so grateful for everything she’s put together for our family. ☺

I want to thank T-Mobile for all the amazing things they sent us on our trip with. It was so nice to meet you all and we are truly grateful for your generosity. ☺

Lizze and I also want to thank my parents for taking care of the ferrets and cat while we’re gone. We are super thankful for all the help. We also want to thank Lizze’s parents for all their help as well. We truly appreciate it. ☺

That’s it for now. Please enjoy the pictures and video below. ☺
