It’s a bad news, bad news kinda day

Gavin’s infusion took almost 6 hours today. Apparently, they are having to do something different now and it’s taking significantly more time.

Gavin’s heart rate has been elevated all day long.

This is not a result of the infusion because this is not typical for when he’s being infused.

While we’re on that topic, I spoken with the Cleveland Clinic about Gavin’s erratic heart rate as of late. His main doctor was out of town and no one wants to stick their fingers in the pie because he is far to complicated.

We have to watch him like a hawk this weekend and document anything that happens and then I should hear from the next week.

I suppose I would have liked more definitive answers but I’m comfortable with this approach for now.  If anything changes, we have to get him to the ER ASAP.

We also learned today that Gavin’s lithium levels are low and we aren’t sure why.  We should be hearing back from Dr.  Reynolds on Monday, as to what we are supposed to do.  We may likely have to do blood work every other day, in order to monitor his levels, at least for the next week or so.

There was also something flagged in the results of his CBC today but we don’t know what that’s all about just yet.

Gavin had some typical Gavin issues, both this morning and during his infusion.  He was demanding, rude and disrespectful to the staff at the hospital and the same at home this morning.

I have a bad feeling about this weekend.

I realize that’s kind of makes me a negative Nancy but I’m nervous about the next couple of days.

I have yet to receive any good news today and I’m not holding my breath in anticipation of any arriving soon.

I’m hoping that I wrong and my gut is misleading me because I’m not in the proper mindset to deal with either a health or behavioral crisis this weekend.
