Changing our plans to meet their needs

I mentioned earlier that we were supposed to go to Cleveland and visit my Mom’s side of the family. It’s been a really long time since we have been there and we were excited at the prospect of going

Enter life…….

Unfortunately, our plans have changed once again.

Elliott is unwilling to leave the house.  The idea of leaving the house is what actually triggered the massive meltdown he had earlier.

Normally, he loves going to visit relatives but lately he just can’t seem to handle it.

Lizze and I have learned to follow their cues, even if we don‘t necessarily like what those cues are telling us.

I even tried to get Elliott to go to the store and pick out decorations for the Christmas tree. I thought it would be fun and Elliott had recently told my Mother that our tree wasn’t very pretty.  I thought what great thing to donate a family.

Apparently, I was wrong.

He had a meltdown very similar to one of Gavin’s tantrums.  Lizze almost got hurt in the process and Elliott was clearly in distress.

We just decided that we would just stay home again and find a way to help Elliott through what he’s going through today.

I’ve managed to get the boys to lay down and rest while watching some TV.. I actually almost had them sleeping but they just wouldn’t cross that threshold. However, they did rest and that’s what mattered.

Lizze is currently sleeping.  She’s in really rough shape today and a large portion of that has to do with the weather and being off her fibromyalgia medication, Lyrica….

My only goal for today that I absolutely want to get done is clean the bathroom.

I may have to wait until the kids go down tonight because I don‘t know that Lizze will be awake anytime soon. As far as I’m concerned, as much as I desperately need the help, I want her to not suffer. If she can sleep through some of the pain today then I’d say that would be a pretty big victory.  🙂
