Okay, I’ve never done this before but I really think it’s important to let others know that we are here. As many connections as I have built up over the past few years, I still only know a few Autism families in my home town.
Something that I would really like to do is have everyone just leave a comment and say whether or not you’re an Autism parent, How many kids on the Autism Spectrum you have and roughly where you reside.
You need not share anything too personal.
The goal here is to let everyone know that they aren’t alone. Maybe, you can even connect with someone locally as well.
I’ll start off.
My name is Rob Gorski and I’m the non-Autistic father of three boys on the Autism Spectrum. We live in the Canton Ohio area.

birmingham, al, non autistic me, will be guardian (if ever needed) for 21 year old autistic nephew and i have a 21 year old son with Behcet’s (autoimmune diesease) who is also a cancer survivor. I am doing everything i can to stay sane in order to keep helping my son and be there if need be for my nephew. kinda tired but a lot of people are, broke and a lot of people seem to have that problem to, I am still doing good at my new job of 2 months and get to see different people, pray for me to be able to use my skills to make a good living thanks

I raised a boy without knowing that both he and I are aspie. I was a single mother for most of that time. He’s 19. We were both originally diagnosed with ADHD. My step-child is also aspie. She’s 18. Now that I know, I’m not sure how either of us managed. 🙂 We live near Seattle, WA.
