I cut my foot on a f*ucking this morning but aside from that I have some pretty awesome things to share

Being an Autism parent is exhausting but that doesn’t mean it’s always unpleasant or without joy.  The truth is that Autism parenting will always be challenging but it’s also full of amazing experiences as well.

Gavin and Emmett spent most of today at my parents house, rebuilding the clubhouse with their Grandpa, uncle and cousin.

I went over in the morning but wasn’t much help because on the way out of my bedroom this morning, I stepped on a Lego (barefoot) and it tore a hole in my heel.  That’s the reason the title of this post is I can’t really complain about today and not I have nothing bad to say about today because it was awesome.

Aside from a very painful hole in my left heel, today was actually pretty awesome.

I was only at my parents house for a little while before Elliott was ready to go home.  They had spent the night with Lizze’s parents and been dropped of in the morning at my parents house, so they were all pretty tired.

I was useless myself and so I took Elliott home but we did end up grocery shopping before eventually heading back to my parents for a late dinner and bonfire.

We had a really nice evening and Lizze was reunited with one of my siblings as well.  I think it was a little awkward but it went really well.

The boys ended up going to be around 10pm tonight, which many Autism parents are aware, will likely not have any impact on when they wake up in the morning.  Sigh……

Anyway, I really feel like today went pretty well and I’m grateful for the time spent with family.  I wish I hadn’t stepped on the Lego this morning but considering how much that fucking hurt and still does, it really didn’t taint the day too much.  I’m going to enter today in the win column because not only did we all survive but we made some really awesome memories as well.  ☺
