Just because my child is "composed" in public doesn't mean they aren't struggling. It means they are working ten times harder than everyone else just to stay regulated. Autism word of the day: Shutdown. Please help me in wishing Gavin a happy birthday. Gavin is autistic and he turned 26 years old today. He’s come such a long way. I love him so much and I couldn’t be prouder of him. The boys celebrated with him yesterday and Gavin and I are going out to lunch on Thursday.
