Senseless

Disclaimer: This post is not intended for my younger readers. Grownup topic is being discussed.

I was informed today that the gentleman that was stabbed the other night,  passed away, leaving behind two young daughters. So now he went from being stabbed to being murdered and his two daughters went from having a Daddy to being without one.

A host of a local, very popular radio show apparently knew him on a personal level. She said he was the nicest guy in the world and would have given you the shirt off his back.

So far I have heard that he was just an innocent victim of a senseless, random act of violence. I don’t even know what to say.

What is wrong with the world?? Thus wasn’t a drug deal gone bad, this was someone walking down the street with his brother, on their way to visit some friends. This could have been anyone..

I walked outside today because his hat is still laying in the street next to the large blood stain that remains there.  Something just felt wrong about leaving his hat out there to get run over by the daily traffic.

In all my years as a fire/paramedic, this was the first time I had been involved in a emergency where the patient was murdered.

I’ve been around death my share if times, but this is something entirely different. I don’t know how to process this. Part of the problem is that I wasn’t able to see it through ti the hospital and know that I had some everything that I could. That’s how I have gotten through these times in the past.

But this time is different… Senseless….absolutely senseless……. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and young children.

I truly hope they catch the animal responsible for this.

I'm so sorry to hear that. But at least find some peace in that you helped him as best as you could and he knew that some random man came to his aid before the lights and siren folk showed up. He didn't just die on the street because no one tried. *hug*
