I should have stayed in bed

I woke up this morning to the realization that today is Friday the 13th.  Honestly,  I’m not a superstitious guy but having said that,  it’s Friday the 13th.

I have already been back and forth to the Ford dealership and in a little bit,  Emmett is being seen by his pediatrician for the second fever flare.  We spoke with immunology last night and the said there is nothing we can do aside from 1ml of Benadryl,  4 times per day.  It’s something about reducing the inflammation.

Outside of that,  all we can do is manage the pain and do our best to keep him hydrated. The doctor told us if we even suspect that he may be dehydrating or stops drinking that we are to get him to the ER right away.

As far as the van goes,  I have no idea.  We may get it back today or sometime next week.

There is a laundry list of issues right now that affect the safety and reliability of the van. We only have 6 days left on the warranty so I need to get this fixed ASAP because we simply can afford anymore expenses as we are crumbling under what we already have.

If I had it my way,  I would probably have slept all the way through today and just skipped it entirely all together.  🙂

First, what about a loaner vehicle? Do they not take care of their customers? I mean, come on. You have children with ongoing serious medical issues. You need a reliable and safe vehicle.
Secondly, not sure if this is the same concept. But, I had a Kenmore refrigerator that stopped cooling, literally a week before the warranty expired. They weren't able to send anyone out to to look at/fix the fridge, until after the warranty expiration date. I was genuinely concerned that they would not honor the warranty. But, I was not in the position to buy a new fridge. So, I was prepared for a fight when spoke to customer service. I voiced my concerns about it breaking while under warranty, but having the repair work done afterwards. After going around and around with them for a few minutes, and getting transferred twice, the reply that I got was, "As long as the problem is documented as occurring while it is still under warranty, it will be covered."
So, as far as your van goes, with Ford, consumer safety and customer loyalty are high on their priority list. If Ford wants to keep their customers, then they had better honor your warranty and fix whatever the documented issues are, even if the repairs can not be completed immediately. Period. No doubt you've told them that, and will continue to do so.
I will continue to pray for your family, regarding Emmett's fever, the issues with your van, and for strength to get through.
