Android4Autism

My plans of setting up a 501c3 charity has met with delays caused by life and the cards I’ve been dealt. However,  I’m always getting emails from people that would like to donate their no longer used android based smartphone or tablet for use with my Android4Autism project.

Until now,  I have respectfully declined these offers because I cannot offer anything in return,  such as tax breaks etc.

Having said that,  I’m also getting lots of emails from families looking to get a device for their child. I have to tell them that I’m currently out of devices.  So I have decided to move forward with Android4Autism based solely on what people are willing to donate.

Please be aware that your unused/no longer used smartphone or tablet donation is welcomed. However, at this time, all I can offer in return for your kindness is good karma. When things with my family settle down enough, I’ll finish the 501c3 paperwork which my attorney is currently holding onto until I get the filing fees together.

This is how it will work.

If you find yourself in a position where you have a smartphone or tablet that you are no longer using and would like to donate it to the Android4Autism project,  you can do so.  One of two things will happen to your donated phone.

1) The phone will be wiped and fitted with a stripped down ROM and filled with tons of apps and music provided by,  Intellijoy and acoustic for autism. A family will then be identified and the device donated.

2) If the donated device can’t be used for and Android4Autism device,  due to the age or condition of said device,  than it will be recycled or donated to places like the Domestic Violence Project. They use old phones and give them to women for a means of calling 911.

Either way,  your device will go to a good cause.

If you are interested in donating a device,  please use the form at the bottom of this post and send me a message.  I will provide more details.  🙂
