I wouldn’t wish this on anyone

This morning, Gavin returned to Lizze’s parents house.  The boys have mixed feelings about this.  They love Gavin but at the same time, can’t cope with him anymore.

Elliott is the most profoundly impacted by this whole thing with Gavin.

He confused and torn as to what he should feel. We are constantly reinforcing with him that just because Gavin can’t live here right now, does not mean he’s no longer a part of our family, or we somehow don’t love him anymore.

We keep explaining that we have to do what’s best for everyone and Gavin is doing well at grandma’s house and they are doing better with him there.

It’s a tough thing to try and process, especially if you’re 6 years old.

Operation Hope is back in full swing and we can once again begin the healing process, at least until Christmas break. I have no idea what we are going to do for those 2 weeks, and honestly that scares me.

However, I’m gonna cross that bridge when I get there.

For now, I want to focus on the boys and helping them to adjust to Gavin being gone again.

This holiday, please be grateful for what you have and don’t ever take your children or family for granted. You never know when something like what we avenging through could happen.

I wouldn’t wish this on anyone….
