Today’s #Autism Victory: OMG he’s finally sleeping

Emmett has been having nightmares at bedtime on the days Gavin has to come home.  The past two relatively sleepless nights for me are evidence of that.

Emmett can be challenging on a really good day.

On days were he’s not feeling well or really tired, as he is today, he’s even more challenging.

Today has thus far been a pretty rough day for everyone.  Lizze missed her therapy session because of a time mix up and Emmett has been, how can I put this nicely, impossible to please.  Neither one of these things alone, would be an easy thing to deal with.  Putting them together is like mixing nitro and glycerin together.

Lizze has been holding her own for the most part today. However, Emmett has been another story all together.

He refused to take a nap this morning, even though he clearly needed it.  Fortunately, he fell asleep on the way to the store and actually slept through me grabbing a few items and returning to the car.

No I didn’t leave him in the car alone, Bella was with. Kidding, Lizze was with him.  🙂

Anyway, he never does this and so he was truly tired and or not feeling well.  So far he seems to be a better mood. In my book this is counted as a victory and as you know, I like to celebrate each one we get.
