This topic was chosen by one of my readers on Facebook and while it’s geared more towards parents, anyone can answer because we can all learn from each other.

So, what do you do you as a parent do to keep sane?

Lots of things. Depends on the mood. Writing is a big way to get it all out and sort through all the thoughts and feelings….make sense of it all. We try to always remember we are a couple as well as individuals too, so we try to make time for ourselves whenever we can. That might include having the little one babysat so we can go out to dinner and a movie or perhaps spend a few hours at the lake fishing. Or we might wait until he’s asleep and then watch a movie or play a few video games.

who said anything about sanity???  ha, I keep myself saner by running at least 4 days a week.  I still consider it torture at times, but it really clears my head

Therapy. Retail therapy, massage therapy, traditional therapies…. blogging. Sometimes I use respite care just to nap and I try not to feel guilty about that. I am always looking for new ideas though.

That’s awesome. It’s so important to do that.

My husband and I try to put the kids upstairs sometimes and watch a movie together or get a babysitter and go out to eat and watch a movie! Doesn’t happen very often:(
