Nothing quite like a 6am meltdown

For some reason, Emmett was up around 6am this morning.  Unfortunately, for Lizze and I, he spent a large part of his morning melting down.

I have no clue why he was upset.

All I know was that he climbed into our bed and proceeded to scream and carry on.  He’s fine now and got ready for school without a single issue.

Meltdowns this early in the morning seem to sorta set the tone for the day. It’s not a pleasant way to be woken up.

We’re doing our best to salvage the morning and get the boys off to school without further incident. I really hope that they have a good day.  🙂

BruceSallan Lost_and_Tired In our house his early morning meltdowns usually occurred when someone else flushed a toilet without his okay.

Nope, it’s not a good way to start the day and can set the tone for the rest of the day. It’s especially difficult when you’re on a schedule and don’t have much time to spare. But you do the best you can do and try to adapt to the situation.

Last friday we had our frst meltdown with M before school. EVERYTHING bugged her right down to the feel of fabric on her skin. Found her curled up in herbedroom spinning a top over amd over..which is how she tries to calm herself. Shes completely verbal bit couldnt find words for what was going on..just tjat it felt like she was coming out of her own skin amd her brain was on repeat. We ended up keeping her home..eventually as her meds kicked in she was able to sleep…school effects her majorly.

I’m telling ya, I have been up since 4:30 with Nate.  One of his fewer than 10 words is now “squeeze”.  He wants continuous deep pressure.  He’s between my husband and I in bed, I am squeezing arms and dad is squeezing legs.  poor kid.  I think back to school has way more effect than I realize.
