I’m pretty sure that I forgot got to share this little tidbit of good news.  As of December 2nd, Gavin will be returning to speech and occupational therapies.

This is a pretty big deal because it’s been about 6 or 7 months since the services were stopped.

You may recall that speech therapy was discontinued because of behavioral problems he was having during his sessions.  He would get very angry and aggressive because he didn’t like to be challenged by the therapist.

There was concern that these outbursts could trigger an autonomic crisis. Occupational therapy was sorta put on hold for similar reasons as well.

As Gavin continues to experience speech regression, it’s so important that we ensure that he has every resource available to him. He getting very difficult to understand at times and while speech therapy isn’t going to fix the problem, it can help him to hang on to what he’s got.

Anyways, this is really good news and I wanted to be sure to share this before I forgot again.
