Elliott’s hand drawn rendition of the classic Sugar Skull

Elliott was kind enough to allow me to take a picture of his latest drawing. This is what he remembered a Sugar Skull looking like. He didn't have one to refer to so he relied solely in his memory. Lizze loves Sugar Skulls and that's why Elliott decided to bust this one out this morning.

There’s this pressure to fix everything for our kids—but the truth is, they don’t need us to clear every obstacle. They need us to believe in them, stand by them, and show up even when things get hard. Meltdowns are involuntary and a sign of overstimulation. They're not a disciplinary issue or a sign of a bad parent. Be kind, patient, and supportive. ❤️🫶 A gentle reminder to the world that things aren’t always as they seem. Please be kind because you never know what’s someone’s going through beneath the surface. Please be kind. ❤️ #autism #theautismdad
