If there was one, special needs parenting related thing that you needed the most help with, what would that one thing be and why?

I just wish my friends REALLY and truly understood what i go through!

Karen

Unfortunately for me, I am a single mom to a special needs child. I wish i had someone to help me once in a while but i don't and that's just the truth of the matter. However, I love my son with everything that i am, i wouldn't trade him for anything, i love him just how he is. If there was one place i wish for help more than any other it was sleeping and mornings. My son has autism and because of this, sleep issues. He can be up some nights until 11pm ( in bed but not sleeping) and i can not go to sleep until he does. Don't ask me why, I'm sure you can understand. But even on the nights that last that late, he still awakens every day between 5:30 and 6. sometimes even as early as 4:30. I wish i had someone else to help me for those days. the days where i have had 4 hours of sleep and then i need to be up chasing my 4 year old. I don't know how he functions with so little sleep. i wish for that. more sleep. Oh and of course, more money, but then, don't we all wish for that?
