ADAPT OR DROWN – Gavin’s appointment never happened

We were supposed to have Gavin to the pediatricians office this morning.  Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.  I was so exhausted from yesterday and the boys got me up about 4am this morning.

When it came time to get ready to go, I wasn’t in any condition to drive.

The only choice I had was to reschedule.  There was no way that I could safely drive. I have to call back on Monday to find out the new appointment date.

I hated doing this but it was the right thing to do..

This appointment is regarding Gavin’s weight-loss and wasn’t a life or death issue.  Gavin’s actually been putting some weight back on recently.  I’m not sure why because his diet hasn’t changed.

Either way, this stuff happens and we have to adapt or drown.

I’m sorry you had to cancel this appointment.  You mentioned it several times in the past week, and I know you and your wife are very concerned about your son’s unexplained weight loss.
You must have been incredibly tired from waking up at 4 in the morning to lay in bed with your son, so as to not be able to safely drive.  I get up at 5am every morning to go to work, and while I’ve never been so impaired as to not be able to drive to an important appointment, I would imagine you must have felt incredibly sleepy.

Hopefully, you can get a good night’s rest before the next appointment, so you can figure out what’s going on with him.
