3 Ways You Can Integrate Technology Into Your Children’s Education

If you rewind time 25-30 years, you will see a world that barely included technology as part of everyday life. Children, in particular, were sent out to play after breakfast, with the only instruction being that they had to return home when the streetlights came on. It can be very difficult, therefore, for parents to want to integrate technology into the day to day life of their children when they didn’t have it in their own youth.

Bringing technology into the world of your children is more than just choosing the pretty iPad covers and deciding which model to go with to optimise their experience. There are many avenues for technology that can be used in the education of children, from tablets and virtual reality headsets, to checking out the DJI Phantom 5 specs to see whether it’s the right drone for seeing the world from the point of view of an eagle. Parents need to consider tons of other factors when introducing technology. You have to consider software, e-reading programmes and even online safety. Teaching children the safest ways to conduct themselves online is so important when it comes to internet safety, and you need to be able to trust your children when they are online. Technology is an important part of the world today and the modern education system relies on technology for progress. So, how can you help to integrate it into the education of your children at home?

Real Topics. When you think about the education system, full of rote memorization, you can often shudder at the idea of boredom. Teaching children means getting stuck in to learning outside the classroom and in the real world. Children become far more excited about learning when they get their hands dirty, and experiments that use technology and science mashed together can be so exciting. Even the exploration of the stars uses exciting telescope technology can excite children.

Self-Learning. Technology allows both parents and teachers to help children to learn in their way and at their own pace. Personalised programmes for learning like this one helps children to learn to read at their own level. The vocabulary and concepts adjust for different ages, meaning a tailored learning plan that a teacher can’t hope to deliver to thirty children and upwards in a class.

Safe Exploration. Children need to be secure in their learning, and if you are able to provide a safe learning space for them, they can be left alone to discover and explore independently. Internet safety is a big issue – the more technologically advanced that we become, the safer our children need to be online. Create boundaries for the social media side of the internet and open up learning avenues with safeguards put in.

Your children are going to go out into a world full of technology. The faster that they understand how it all works, the better of they will be in the real world. There’s no need to panic; learning is taking on new dimensions.
