Tonight is family therapy night with Dr. Pattie.  We missed yesterday because yours truly was sicker than a dog. Thankfully, I'm feeling much better now and so we were able to get the kids to their appointment tonight.  Lizze and I rely on these appointments as though they are a port in the storm. I shared a while ago that I would be writing for the Akron Children's Hospital website.  I haven't had a great deal of time to get anything written for them. However, that's all changed as I have been published this week. I would have shared this with you the other day but I was sick and didn't do much of anything but sleep. I'm so honored to be able to work with Akron Children's Hospital as they are among the very best in the country and for good reason. I'll be honest, I'm feeling much better today but I still feel like crap.  I'm shaky, achy and weak. You know how it is when you're getting over being sick. It seems like Emmett finds the least opportune time to want to use me as a jungle gym. All afternoon he's been climbing on me and it's not been fun.....for me. He's having loads of fun though. I don't know if he's climbing on me more than usual or if it's more noticeable because I feel so poorly. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a little bit of both.  I can't wait until bedtime. I don't know what it is today but Gavin is driving me crazy. Perhaps it's because I've been sick and truthfully still feel under the weather. Gavin is being.......Gavin.  He's not really doing anything wrong or at least really wrong. He's just being annoying and won't stop talking.  I realize that sounds pretty harsh but its the truth. We were watching Madagascar 2 and he wouldn't stop talking during the movie.  I asked  him several times to please be courteous to those that are trying to enjoy the movie but he would just start up again.  I finally ended up sending him to his room because I looked over and he was letting Bella, aggressively bury her face in his crotch. I have forgotten to do my Wednesday Weigh-in the last couple of weeks.  I suppose I've been too preoccupied with other things.  Anyway, I stepped onto the scale today and BAM. I'm down to 284 lbs. I began my weight-loss journey about a month a go, after tipping the scales at 305lbs. I'm officially down 21 lbs. I'm so excited to be getting somewhere with this.  I'm excited to be getting my health back.  I also can't weight (get it) to step on the scale next Wednesday.  Please feel free to share your weight-loss journey here.  We're all going to make progress as well as suffer setbacks.  We're here to encourage and support each others weight-loss goals. Friday morning, I will be escorting Gavin to his monthly IVIG Infusion.  We must arrive at Akron Children's Hospital around 9am. Unfortunately, this coincides with Lizze's appointment at the Cleveland Clinic for a menopause related followup. Lizze is rescheduling because Gavin must have his infusion on time. That and we simply can't be in two places at once. This will be his last IVIG Infusion of Summer vacation. I'm finally feeling well enough to eat something.  My fever is gone and I'm doing much better this morning.  I figured it's better to start off simple and ease my way back into the land of the living.  Plain yogurt and a handful of blueberries are what's on the menu this morning. Depending on how that goes, I have something a bit more daring in a little while. Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I'm still sick.  Lizze is sick as well but not with food poisoning or a stomach bug.  She's been pushing herself all day so that I could sleep and recover. The boys went to my parents house a little while ago for bathes and to give Lizze and break. I'm slowly beginning to move around again but haven't eaten anything since last night.  I need to get some saltine crackers and either some Gatorade or Ginger Ale. Hoping to feel better in the morning. Thank you Lizze for taking such good care of me today.
