Lost and Tired: Life in 2011 (pt. 1)

2011 has been a very big year for the Lost and Tired family. Like any other family, we have had our highs and lows. I thought it would be appropriate to take a look back at some of the events that have impacted my family this year.

These events, while heartbreaking, have each impacted the Lost and Tired family in a profound way. In some cases, our lives will be forever changed.

The following are in chronological order,  not in oder of important or significance.  My brain isn’t firing on all cylinders today so this is the easiest way for me to share this with all of you.

I will post another list later with the more positive things that have happened in 2011.

1) I met the “Bare Handed Man”.

2) Lizze needed a complete hysterectomy at age 30.

3) Emmett was officially diagnosed with Autism.

4) Gavin was admitted to the psychiatric floor of Akron Children’s Hospital,  twice.

5) Discovered that Gavin has an exotic degenerative neurological disorder.

6) Discovered Gavin has no immune system of his own.

7)  Emmett was diagnosed with Marshalls Syndrome.

8)  Emmett had surgery for the Marshalls Syndrome.

9) Emmett was diagnosed with severe allergies to milk,  lactose and eggs.

10) Gavin and Elliott are diagnosed with Asthma.
11) Elliott was booted out of his old school simply for being Autistic.

12)  Elliott was officially diagnosed with Aspergers.

13)  Violence spilled into our neighborhood and we must relocate ASAP.

14)  The van required a total of almost $8000 in repairs this year alone and has broken down again.

15) Gavin requires monthly antibody infusions for the rest of his life.

16) We pulled Emmett out of school due to mistreatment.

17) Lizze’s health continues to decline.

18) Gavin continues to experience,  cognitive,  neurological and muscular regression.

19) I was almost killed in a drive by shooting.

20) Ended most of my Android development because I didn’t have the time anymore.

That covers most of 2011’s less than happy moments.  2011 has been a difficult year but we have survived and I suppose sometimes it all you can ask for.  🙂

Stay tuned for 2011’s victories.  That will be a happier post 🙂
