The poor man’s datenight

Lizze and I had a very low key evening last night. After dropping the boys off at my parents house we went to the grocery store and grabbed some necessities.

We also picked up a few things for dinner as well.

Lizze was not feeling well last night and fell asleep on the couch while watching Netflix..

She’s still sleeping at 10 am this morning. I got up to let the dogs out and eat breakfast.  I don’t know when the boys will be home so right now, it’s all about getting some rest.

Hopefully, Lizze will be feeling better today.

P.S. I understand completely what you mean about fibromyalgia making it hard to cook. I’m sorry you have to go through this-it is painful. Thanks to severe fibromyalgia, I had to stop working and reduce activity significantly. I’m getting okay with it and just take it day to day and be glad with what I still can do.
My best wishes to you.

@Batty: thanks so much for taking the time to give me great ideas and tips for grocery shopping. You’re right we have Sams Club in Ohio and have to compare prices and see if there are better deals at another store. Wal Mart is my world’s favorite place to shop and deals are outstanding! I just adopted a new fave store called Sav-A-Lot. Again you have to watch the prices on some items which may not be any better than the next grocery store. Also I clip lots and lots of coupons and sign up for preferred customer cards for even more savings and bargains. Thanks again for your help and looking forward to seeing you more on Lost and Tired 🙂

I don't have date nights yet but low-key times with my mom and family are the BEST!! Hope for more good times for you and Lizze 🙂

@MaryAnn47 thanks. 🙂

Our last date night was supposed to be on my birthday last week, but our little guy had other plans. Instead he opted for a hospital admission and giving me about 50 new gray hairs. I'm all for low-key after that.

@adventuresinmattyland I hope all is well. We've had our share of those with our oldest. Sometimes quiet is good. 🙂

Pineapple for .99???  We have to pay over $3.00 for pineapple!  I am sooooo jealous!  Hope you both get some rest!

I gave on on buying pineapple because of the horrible prices.  If I must, will look for specials and sales on those–sure miss pineapple!  Hope you don't mind if I ask Batty and Rob:  which grocery stores do you go to for best prices–I need a little help on improving my grocery shopping.  Many Thanks!!!

@MaryAnn47  @lostandtired  MaryAnn, I'm in Virginia, but I shop at Sam's Club for certain items (you have to know your prices to get the best deal from Sam's), Wal-Mart (cereals, nuts, yoghurts, sale bakery items), Food Lion (sale meats, deli specials on sliced ham, buttermilk, milk), Kroger's (flyer specials).  FYI–if you go to Barnes and Noble and buy from the coffee shop–the cheesecakes they sell there for $4-5/slice can be bought from Sam's for $12-15 for the entire package.  We just got our Thanksgiving pumpkin cheesecake.  I used to make ours from scratch but bad knees and fibromyalgia have put a damper on the amount of cooking I am able to do.  Pineapple I look for in Wal-Mart as they are usually cheaper there than in Sam's (most of the fruit there is more expensive than other places).  Sam's usually has really good prices on bulk fresh veggies.
