I have recently accepted a challenge. This challenge will help lead to better health and help me to practice self control.
A little while ago, Lizze stumbled across something on one of her Mommy Blogs that pertained to improving ones health. The challenge was to give up all beverages with the exception of water, for forty days.
There are obvious health benefits to this. Things like detoxing the body, proper hydration and weight loss.
I’m going to take this challenge up and beginning Monday, February 18th, I will drink only water for a total of 40 days. Who knows, I may get used to this and make it a more permanent thing.
Anyone else want to join me?

If either of you drink a lot of caffeine, you may want to taper down rather than stop cold turkey. I did the same and almost ended up in the ER with a migraine, which is a huge inconvenience (as I am sure you know) with the kids.
we as a family ,kicked the pop habit a few months ago,pop was leading to self injury in our son Matt, it took a couple weeks to get used to it, but so so worth it!!!!We have jugs of water and now have a water machine that dispences hot and cold water, we also put lemons and limes slices in our water for a change. We feel better ,no low blood sugar moments,less headaches , so much better We now try for 4 glasses before anything else in the morning ,(before eating anything ) we have also lost weight! We also cut dairy,additives ,preservitives ,GMO’s and colorings ,limit sugar and bread .(So meat ,beans vegtables fruits ) We have seen what these changes can bring to our son, no meltdowns, much less stimming , more verbal , chooses to be with us so much more, as hard as it is -with an autistic you can not have it in the house period,if it is there they will find it ,so everyone is banned from it as well. I urge everyone to try ,we have seen the difference we wish we would have done it years ago, Good Luck, with embracing water ,you will never regret it ! Gloria
