It’s a process

It’s gonna be a busy day here in The Autism Dad household. We’re painting the foundation and the porch floor today. There’s a lot to get done in a short amount of time but we got this.

Last night I spent the evening under stadium lights at a high school football game. I haven’t been to one of those since I was in high school. Even though it rained, I had a great time. The kids and I got a break from each other and that’s definitely a good thing.

We totally did a corn maze

The boys and I are beginning to live our lives again. It’s been a long and arduous journey but it’s brought us to the point where the boys are spending time with friends, and even dating.

Gavin’s getting reevaluated this coming week and so many doors will open for him as a result. I’m so excited for him.

Work is going great for me. I’m slowly making progress on the house and I’m beginning to live my life again. Its no secret that our lives have been challenging but I’d even go so far as to say that the kids have had to deal with more than their fair share of difficulties. We’ve finally reached the other side of this long, dark tunnel and have begun the process of readjusting to the light.

I know that sounds weird but when things have been so challenging for so long, it takes time to adjust to being in a better place. I’m realizing that I didn’t find myself here overnight and the adjustment isn’t going to be overnight either. It’s a process. But it’s a process that’s well under way.
