Today was one of those days when we get news about one of our kids that really makes us feel like an epic failure. I mentioned earlier that Emmett was going to be at Akron Children's Hospital today for an eye exam. We've been noticing that he seems to have trouble with his vision and so we wanted to get him in. Turns out that his vision is really, really bad.  His right eye sees 20/200 and his left eye sees 20/80. This means that his right eye sees things at 20 feet away as though they are 200 feet away.  His left eye sees things at 20 feet away as though they 80 feet away. I wanted to compile a list of #Autism facts as you see them, through your eyes. We all know what the doctors say.  We all know what the big autism organizations say.  However, in my opinion, we need to hear what the people in the trenches have to say.  We need to listen to the parents as well as teenage and adult autistics that have been trying to speak but no one ever listens to. The way I see it, if we work together to provide a comprehensive list of the did you knows  about autism that reflects our individual or personal experience, we could help people to have a better idea of what Autism actually is. We will be at Akron Children's Hospital today. This time it's for Emmett's eyes.  He's been having trouble seeing, especially out of his right eye. I have no idea how this is going to go because Emmett's in a mood today. I'm pretty sure Emmett's going to need glasses and I'm definitely not sure how that's going to go. We took the boys to see the movie Rise of The Guardians.  Tickets were like one dollar a piece and the seating isn't as comfortable but the movie was magical. Emmett and I saw it a few months ago but Lizze and Elliott hadn't seen yet.  The boys loved it. Lizze loved it. Fun was had by all. :-) This was a complete success and definitely helped the whole cabin fever. The boys even sat through the entire movie and part of the credits.
