I wanted to share with you all,  a photo compilation of Emmett's recent journey with his dog Bella.  For those new to our story,  Bella is Emmett’s pseudo service dog.  She's a pure breed Boxer puppy and just had surgery.  It wasn't anything major,  as she was simply getting spade.  However,  it turned into a much bigger deal when she had a very difficult time recovering.  She was back and forth to the Vet’s office 4 or 5 times,  due to complications.  The problem ended up being that she was so dedicated to Emmett,  that she wouldn't allow herself to rest.  She was hypervigilant and Gavin's numerous tantrums didn't help matters. Thankfully, as of yesterday,  she has made a full recovery and had her stitches removed.  Below,  is a series…

Last night was one of the most restless nights of sleep I've had in quite some time. At some point I ended up on the couch,  probably because of my my back. Lizze didn't fare any better as she's not feeling well. It's very likely to be an exceptionally long and trying day. During Gavin's tantrum yesterday,  he began punching his solid oak bedroom door.  He was hitting it hard enough that I thought he was kicking it. This is what he did to his hand.  He busted open his knuckles but no long term damage and no broken bones. He doesn't seem bothered by what I would think is a painful and very natural consequence for punching his door. I would hope that it would serve as a lesson for him but I know better than that. I managed to get in another 3 miles tonight.  Between Wednesday and Thursday I did almost 8 miles. I burned almost 2,000 kcal and I'm feeling really good about that.  It's not easy to get away anymore but that makes the times that I do,  that much sweeter. I want to try and walk again today and try and put in another 5 miles. God willing,  everyone will be in a good place this evening, so I can sneak out for about an hour and hit the track again. This really helps to manage my stress and without it,  I struggle a lot more. I don't drink.  I don't smoke or do drugs.  All I want to do is walk and eventually run again.  I think that's a pretty good…

This is a typical meal at the Lost and Tired house.  Granted we haven't put out the fruit, drinks and veggies but you can see that everyone has something different.  It's damn near impossible to make one thing that is acceptable to everyone.  Each of the boys has different sensory needs and those needs impact what types of foods the tolerate.  I can safely say that I no longer enjoy cooking because it has become way to big of an ordeal to please everyone.  In all fairness though,  please is probably the wrong word.  They have no control over this and I don't blame them one bit.  Having said that,  it doesn't mean I still don't get frustrated. Bella finally has made a full recovery from her surgery, almost 2 weeks ago.  Her stitches were removed this morning and Emmett was right there making sure his best friend was well cared for. We have to try and keep her from licking it for another 24 hours but she can finally run and play once again. I'm looking for a bit of advice.  After Gavin's latest meltdown this afternoon, I want to make sure to send a strong message,  without going overboard.  He's acting as though nothing has happened.  He wants to just pick up where he left off. I'm of the mind that when something this extreme happens,  that he spends the rest of the day in his room, alone and away from his brothers.  He can read or whatever, but he can't just rejoin the rest of us,  as though nothing ever happened.  Honestly,  I don't feel guilty doing this because we can make it a natural consequence and after disrupting the entire house,  we could all use the separation. Gavin just had another catastrophic meltdown. Right now we are trying to figure out what to do.  The whole thing happened because his play was getting darker and he knows he's not aloud to play like that with his brothers. Not only did he lie when we questioned him about this but he freaked out upon receiving the consequences for his actions. The punishment was that he lost the TV in his room.  That means we removed the Netflix box from his TV so it would be rendered useless. We told him he could still watch TV, just not in his room.
