I was wondering how many of you are still referring to Aspergers as a diagnosis? In the advent of the recently released DSM 5, Aspergers and PDD-NOS have been removed and are no longer a diagnosis. With that being the case, how have your doctor's decoded to proceed? Has you or your child's diagnosis been changed from Aspergers to Autism? I know that most kids won't notice the difference but I would guess that many adults would.  How do you feel about having your diagnosis changed? I'm gonna start something new and hopefully be able to follow through on it.  I'm going to do a brief summary of the days events, for those of you that want a days worth of posts condensed into one.  These will be titled The (insert day of the week) Report. Today went alright. For starters, I lived to tell you about it and that's always a good thing.  Overall, it was an okay day.  Lizze really struggled today.  Between the fatigue and pain, she was absolutely miserable. Sometimes things in life are really challenging and other times they're really, really challenging. Then there are those days where I'm reciting the Serenity Prayer to myself, just to make it through the day. What happens on the days that the Serenity Prayer doesn't quite cut it? I've had a few days like that myself. It's these times that I have to put myself into timeout. I have to get myself centered and focus on what I have to do, even if it's the bare minimum. Sometimes I will put on my headphones and find my happy place (much easier said than done). What do you do when life hands you more than you can cope with? Lizze is having a really rough day today.  She's unable to stay awake and is in a great deal of pain.  I want to try an get the boys to the playground today because they need out of the house. My dreams of getting anything accomplished today have been tossed out the window as I'm shackled to the boys.  I'm really grateful for Lizze because she let me have a 2 hour nap this morning because I've been up with the kids since before 5am. She's now laying down and I'm going to give her as much time as I can. We've developed a team approach to everything we do and no matter how big or small our role, each is important. Today we will be implementing a more aggressive approach to safety in our house. We had become a bit lax because things have been going so well.  However, that's changed and we are pushing forward with reinforcing the rule of no physical contact and only playing within earshot or eyesight. This is going to be challenging on just about every level but it's something that has once again become necessary, to ensure everyone's safety and well being. Gavin will be cooperative, at least on the surface.  The other boys are going to dislike this, a lot. Unfortunately, this is just something that everyone is going to have to accept.  We are doing what we've been advised to do and what's best for everyone, even if it's a bit unpleasant. I…
