I don’t want my kids to feel like they have to hide their mistakes from me. Too often, autistic kids are pressured to “fit in” by making eye contact, giving hugs, or socializing in ways that feel uncomfortable. People often assume that if an autistic child isn’t making eye contact, they aren’t paying attention. That’s not true.
